New Website Launched: Polish Business Hub
This month LMD launched a special ‘Bespoke’ WordPress website; one that contained several feature-rich customised plugins and coded entirely in Polish!
A ground up build and working closely with our partner throughout, this project was as intense as it was rewarding as we closed down the deadline to the inauguration event.
Back in the summer, our partner came to us to discuss her requirements for her new site to marry her new business. She knew exactly what she needed the site to do for her and her would-be members, and the timescale she needed it delivered to. With this in mind and with frequent communication throughout, this made the design and build process a smooth ride.
The biggest challenge was coding the site in Polish, meaning the plugins also needed re-coding. Finding and developing plug-ins for this site however was critical to its success. Some of these plug-ins and how we developed them are below.
Membership System
We needed a system which would allow for registrations of more than one type of membership, and allow to take payments during the process. We also needed members to automatically show up in a members directory on the website.
We found that the ‘UPME’ plugin suited the need, albeit with some customisation to suit requirements.

Document Download System
We needed a system which would allow for downloads of documents of various types, and would also optionally require login to download. We needed a listing page and then a details page per download, so people could see what the download was about prior to downloading and potentially logging in first.
This need was met through the ‘Download Documents’ plugin which worked fine without much configuration.
Blog Feature
The blog feature was pretty much a case of using the standard ‘filterable portfolio’ module from the LMD framework.
We did however develop some customised blog post templates for our partner to use, for the style she wished to use.

Event Management System
The event management system was important to get right being one of the main features of the site. We needed a system which would allow for multiple events and event types, and scheduling of ticket types. We also needed this to tie-in with the membership element and the payment systems.
We found that the ‘Event Manager Pro’ with Stripe and Paypal add-ons worked a treat!

This project was deemed a success almost immediately by our partner, as it gave her business the ‘shop window’ it would not otherwise have had. It also gives her business an income through memberships and events, and resources for her members to use.
We are excited about future work as we look to build upon the site with new and exciting features for the benefit of the Polish Business Hub member base.
