New Theme Launched:
Pairallax
This month LMD launched a brand new Theme; Pairallax.
We wanted something simple for visitors to use. So simple that heck, we didn’t even put in a menu!
We as shoppers have certainly changed along with technological developments in the last 20 years. In a way we have become spoiled by the very thing which has given us so much reach for such low cost and effort. What we at LMD have noticed has happened more so of late is a greater spoiling of a kind of instant satisfaction being needed, or the ‘shopper’ clicks off the website. It would appear that websites have become a little too clever with all the features that are widely becoming available in trendy ‘micro-interactions’, resulting is a loss of interest due to working around the website being just too laborious. So we decided a new Theme was needed which was really stripped back yet beautiful and purposeful.
The New Theme
The trick is to get the media all looking about the same in terms of size, layout, background colour perhaps and quality level. This way the transitioning looks smooth and elegant and non-distracting to the visitor; the whole point of the exercise.
The mobile experience (shown here) is a little different as the scrolling parallax method just doesn’t work as well, sadly. So, a more standard approach is taken of the images flowing in along with the writing.
The result is a smooth flowing distraction free experience, as simple as reading a book, which for information and brochureware type websites our Pairallax THEME makes an ideal choice.
The Inspiration
We were originally inspired by the porschevolution.com website. The site, like the car, is beautiful yet so simple in design. There are no big overbearing features – just a simple side navigation, some background music and that is about it. This really allows for the content – all that beautiful imagery – to be absorbed by the visitor. I wonder now how long people spend these days trying to work out how to use a website rather than spending time actually enjoying the ease of using the website and gaining something from the content; the main reason they went there. Both the Porsche and our Pairallax website allows that freedom and ease of use for the visitor.

We understand that sometimes less is more. This is especially true when it comes to website features which can, at times, distract visitors away from the bigger picture; the actual content.
So there we have it; another LMD THEME ready to roll for new clients…
Perhaps you have a need for a new website that could do with this more simplistic approach to look and feel for your visitors? If so, we would love to help you.
